Why have a Sphynx Kitten or other Hairless cat or kitten as a pet?
1. Sphynx Kittens Have A Unique Appearance:
Their lack of fur in Sphynx cats exposes their wrinkled skin, which many people find charming and unique.
Their large ears, prominent cheekbones, and wide-eyed expression add to their charm.
2. Charming and Playful Personality:
Sphynx cats are playful and energetic. They also get along well with other pets including but not limited to dogs.
They enjoy interactive play with toys and puzzles.
Their high energy levels make them very entertaining companions.
3. Companionship:
Sphynx cats provide companionship and emotional support to their owners.
You can and will find great comfort and joy in the bond you’ll come to share with your Sphynx cat.
This makes them wonderful pets for individuals or families seeking a loyal and loving companion.
4. Sphynx Cats are relatively easier to groom:
Due to their lack of fur, they don’t require regular brushing or grooming like many other cat breeds.
They however need to be cleaned as oils can accumulate on their skin.
A pro-tip is to wear them a sweater. It keeps them warm and soaks up excess oil.

Following the above steps are a must in adopting any Sphynx Kitten from Champion Sphynx Cattery:
- Research Your Breeder.
Make findings about reputable breeders.
A reputable breeder is a breeder who is registered with a cat breeding organization, such as The Cat Fanciers Association (CFA), or The International Cat Association (TICA).
A responsible breeder is able to provide documentation of the cat’s pedigree.
A reputable breeder will also provide health certificates for their cats, proving that they have been screened for common health issues that can affect the breed, such as hip dysplasia and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Be wary of breeders who are too cheap as they may be trying to make a quick cash off of your desperation.
- Choose your kitten.
Once you’ve found a reputable sphynx breeder, choose your preferred sphynx cat from the available options.
Sphynx, Bambino or Elf cats are usually available for adoption at around 12-16 weeks old.
Look for kittens who are alert, playful, and friendly.
Avoid kittens that seem shy, as this could be indicative of health or behavioral issues.
You won’t have to worry about behavioral issues with our kittens. Since we make sure they have a lot of exposure to people and other pets, they are usually well socialized and trained.
- Prepare your home.
Set up a litter box, food and water dishes, toys and puzzles and a comfortable bed for your cat to sleep in.
Cat-proof your home. Remove any potential hazards such as poisonous plants, loose wires, and breakable objects.
Make an exercise area and have scratch posts available for your new kitten.
Before bringing your new pet home, ensure that all the necessary supplies, including food, litter, toys, and a comfortable bed are available.

Considering their lack of fur, Sphynx cats need specialized grooming and our tips will make you a pro in no time.
